What is the best time for a ski day trip or a ski holiday?

The ideal time to go skiing depends on the type of trip (day trip or multi-day stay), your budget, and how far in advance your group can plan.

For ski holidays (multi-day stays)

For ski holidays, we recommend avoiding school holiday periods and planning several months in advance in order to benefit from a wider choice of accommodation and more attractive prices.
Ideally, ski holidays should be planned in spring for the following winter season.

Several periods are particularly interesting:

  • Early December: ski areas may be only partially open, but large ski resorts often offer excellent value, especially for accommodation. Resorts such as Val d’Isère, Alpe d’Huez, and Les Deux Alpes frequently have very attractive deals during this period.
  • January (outside school holidays): snow conditions are usually excellent, but availability fills up quickly, which is why early planning is essential.
  • After the February school holidays, especially from late March onwards: prices become very competitive. We recommend choosing high-altitude ski resorts, where snow conditions generally remain very good. Accommodation is widely available, and both ski passes and lodging are significantly cheaper.

For ski day trips

For ski day trips, we offer very competitive rates throughout the season, especially every weekend.

We do, however, recommend avoiding school holiday weekends, mainly to limit traffic congestion on the return journey.
On Sundays, ski slopes tend to be slightly busier than on Saturdays, but it is often easier to secure a bus, which can simplify logistics.

Thanks to our expertise, we help you choose the best possible period based on your constraints and objectives, ensuring the right balance between ski conditions, comfort, and budget control.
